Answer:

a =  {25}^{o}

Step-by-step explanation:

AB||CD AND BC IS A TRANSVERSAL

THEREFORE, ANGLE ABC = ANGLE BCD (ALT. INT. ANGLES)

ANGLE BCD = 85°.

NOW, RS||CD AND RC IS A TRANSVERSAL

THEREFORE, ANGLE SRC + ANGLE DCR = 180° (CO-INT. ANGLES)

ANGLE DCR + 120° = 180°

ANGLE DCR = 180° - 120° = 60°

NOW, ANGLE BCR + ANGLE DCR = ANGLE BCD

a + 60° = 85°

a = 85° - 60°

a = 25°

(You can replace "ANGLE" by angle symbol )

Answer:

The value of a+b is a+b. In other words, add a to b. Of course, it would be more meaningful if there were VALUES given to a and b, like a= 3 and b = 4.
