Answér :

(c) 5

Solution :

Here ,

The given equation of straight line is ;

2x - 3y + 5 = 0 .

Also ,

It is given that , (5 , a) lies on the given line .

Thus ,

(5 , a) must satisfy the given equation of line .

Thus ,

Putting x = 5 and y = a in the given equation of line , we get ;

=> 2x - 3y + 5 = 0

=> 2•5 - 3•a + 5 = 0

=> 10 - 3a + 5 = 0

=> 15 - 3a = 0

=> 3a = 15

=> a = 15/3

=> a = 5

Hence ,

The required answer is 5 .
