Find the value of 'a' such that the equation 5x + ay = 8 may have (3,-2) as a solution.

5x+ay=8
Substituting x=3,y=-2
5(3)+a(-2)=8
15-2a=8
-2a=-7
a=7/2

Substituting (3,-2) we get

5×3 - 2a = 8

-2a = -7
