find the value of a when g(x) is a factor of p(x)

g(x) = x - 1 \\ \\ p(x) = a {x}^{2} - 5x + 3 \\ \\
if g(x) is a factor of p(x),then value of x from g(x) must satisfy the polynomial p(x)

x - 1 = 0 \\ \\ x = 1 \\ \\
p(1) = 0 \\ \\ a( {1)}^{2} - 5(1) + 3 = 0 \\ \\ a - 5 + 3 = 0 \\ \\ a - 2 = 0 \\ \\ a = 2 \\ \\
Hope it helps you
