To find : Length of BC
Solution:
in ΔABC and ΔADE
∠A = ∠A Common
∠B = ∠D Corresponding angles
∠C = ∠E Corresponding angles
ΔABC ≈ΔADE (AAA)
AB/AD = BC/ DE
AB = AD + DB = 1.5 + 3.5 = 4.5
=> 4.5/1.5 = BC/ 4
=> 3 = BC/ 4
=> BC = 12
Length of BC = 12 cm
