We have to simplify
cot 10° . cot 30° . cot 80° ......... (1)
cot 10° can be written as
cot 10° = cot (90° - 80°)
cot 10° = tan 80° [ ∵ cot (90° - θ) = tan θ ]
Put this value in (1) , we get:
tan 80° . cot 30° . cot 80°
= tan 80° . cot 30° . 1 / tan 80° [ ∵ cot θ = 1 / tan θ ]
Simplifying, we get:
cot 30° = √ 3
