Find the value of discriminant of the following equation 1) 2x2+x1=0. 2) x2-6X+7=0​

First question

2x {}^{2}  + x + 1 \\ here \:  \: a = 2. \:  \:  \: b = 1. \:  \:  \: c = 1 \\ discriminant = b {}^{2}  - 4ac = 1 - 8 =  - 7 \:  \:  \:  \: ans.

For second

x {}^{2}  - 6x + 7 = 0 \\ here \:  \: a = 1. \:  \:  \: b =  - 6. \:  \:  \: c = 7  \\ discriminant = b {}^{2}  - 4ac = 36 - 28 = 8 \:  \:  \: ans.
