6x- 3y= -10 .....(i)

3x+5y= 8 .......(ii)

on multiplying the equation (ii) by 2 on both sides

we have:

6x+10y = 16.....(iii)

Now(iii) - (i)

i.e.,6x+10y= 16

6x- 3y = -10

- + +

_______________

13y= 26

y= 2

On putting the value of y in equation (i)

i.e., 6x-3(2) = -10

6x= -10+6

x= -4/6= -2/3

Thus, x= -2/3

& y= 2
