(i) p(x)=4x²-3x+7.

x=1.

p(1)=4(1)²-3(1)+7.

=4(1)-3+7.

=4-3+7.

=1+7. (Because +×-=- & largest number is impprtant).

=8.

(ii) q(y)=2y³-4y+√11.

y=1.

q(1)=2(1)³-4(1)+√11.

=2(1)-4+√11.

=2-4+√11.

=-2+√11. (Because +×-=- & largest number is impprtant).

(iv) s(z)=z³-1.

z=1.

s(z)=(1)³-1.

=1-1.

=0. (Because +×-=-).

(v) p(x)=3x²+5x-7.

x=1.

p(1)=3(1)²+5(1)-7.

=3(1)+5-7.

=3+5-7.

=8-7.

=1. (Because +×-=- & largest number is impprtant).

(vi) q(z)=5z³-4z+√2.

z=2.

q(2)=5(2)³-4(2)+√2.

=5(8)-4+√2.

=40-4+√2.

=36+√2. (Because +×-=- & largest number is impprtant).
