 Given \: p(y) = 5y^{2} - 3y + 7

 i ) If \: y = -1 \: then \: value \: of \: p(-1) \\= 5(-1)^{2} - 3(-1) + 7 \\= -5 + 3 + 7\\= -5+10 \\= 5

 ii ) If \: y = 1 \: then \: value \: of \: p(1) \\= 5(1)^{2} - 3(1) + 7 \\= 5 - 3 + 7\\= 2+7 \\= 9

Therefore.,

 \green { p(-1) = 5 \: and \: p(1) = 9 }
