Answer :-

\sf Given \begin{cases} & \sf{h = 800 km} \\ & \sf{R_e = 6400} \\ & \sf{g = 9.8 ms^{-2}}\end{cases}\\

To find :-

Value of acceleration due to gravity

Solution :-

\sf g' = \dfrac{g}{\big(1 +  { \dfrac{h}{R_e} }\big)^{2} }

Substituting the value in formula :-

\sf g' = \dfrac{9.8}{\big(1 +  { \frac{\cancel{800}}{\cancel{6400}} }\big)^{2} }

\sf g' = \dfrac{9.8}{\big(1 +  { \dfrac{1}{8} }\big)^{2} }

\sf g' = \dfrac{9.8}{\big( { \dfrac{9}{8} }\big)^{2} }

\sf g' = \dfrac{9.8}{\big(\dfrac{81}{64}\big)}

\sf g' = \dfrac{9.8 \times 64}{81}

\sf g' = 7.74

Acceleration due to gravity = 7.74 m/s²
