We can use:

F=G\frac{m_{1}m_{2}}{r^2}

To find 'g' value.

where:

  • G is gravitational constant.
  • m_{1} \:and \:m_{2} are masses of two bodies.
  • r is distance between them.
  • F is force due to gravity between them.

Since,we can write F as

F=mg

 \implies mg=G\frac{m_{1}m_{2}}{r^2}

 \implies g=G\frac{m_{1}}{r^2}

G=6.67× {10}^{ - 11}  {m}^{3}  {kg}^{ - 1}  {s}^{ - 2}

m_{1} = mass_{earth} = 6 \times  {10}^{24} kg

r = radius_{earth} = 6.4 \times  {10}^{6} m

 \implies g =  (6.67 \times  {10}^{ - 11}) (\frac{6\times  {10}^{24} }{ {(6.4 \times 10 {}^{6} )}^{2} } )

\implies g =  \frac{40  \times  {10}^{13} }{40.96 \times  {10}^{12} }

 \implies g = 0.98 \times 10
