Value of k satisfying the equation f(x) = 3x^2 + kx + 5 at x = 1/3:

Let us take the reference point at x = 1/3 be 0.

Therefore, f(x) = 0

3x^2 + kx + 5 = 0 ........ at x = 1/3

3(1/6) + k/3 + 5 = 0

1/3 + k/3 + 5 = 0

k/3 = -5 -1/3

k/3 = -16/3

[k = -16]
