let p(x)=x²-x-(2k+2),

if -4 is the zero of p(x) then
p(-4)=0,

(-4)²-(-4)-(2k+2)=0,

16+4-2(k+1)=0,

20-2(k+1)=0,

2(k+1)=20,

k+1=10,

k=9
