We know that, when the roots are equal,discriminant is zero.

∆=0 or b²-4ac=0

Given 2x²-x+k=0

a=2,b=-1,c=k

(-1)²-4*2*k=0

1-8k=0

8k=1

k=1/8

the value of k for quadratic equation 2x^2-x+k=0, so that they have two equal roots is 1/8

b²-4ac=0
b=-1
a=2
c=k

therefore,
(-1)²-4(2)(k)=0
1-8k=0
8k=1
k=1/8
