f(f(x)) = a*ax/(x+1)/(ax/(x+1) +1) = a^2*x / (a*x + x+1) which is should be equal to x.

solve above equation:

x * (a^2–(a+1)*x-1) = 0

so either x=0

or a^2 - a*x - (x+1) = 0

a = (x+/- Sqrt ( x^2+4x +1))/2
