Find the value of k for the linear equation 2x-3y=7 (k+2)x-(2k+1)y=3(2k-1)

Solution

2x-3y=7.............(1)

(k+2)x-(2k+1)y= 3(2k-1).........(2)

Comparing coefficient we have

k+2 : 2k+1 : 3(2k-1) = 2: 3 :7

(k+2)/ 2k+1= 2/3

3k+6= 4k+2

k= 4
