Hey there!!

we have

a = k
b = 2
c = 1

As the Question given its root is real and equal
therefore,

Discriminant D = 0

=> b^2 -4ac = 0

=>( 2)^2 - 4k 1 = 0

=> 4 - 4k = 0

=> k = -4/-4

=> k = 1

Hope this helps u !!
