Find the value of k for which the pair of equations
3x+y=1
and (2k-1)x +(k -1) y = 2k +1
has no solution.​

Answer:

3x+y=1

3x=1-y

x= 1-y/3

put y = 4

x=1-4/3

x= -1

so we have x= -1

y= 4

so put this values in (2k-1)x+(k-1)y=2k+1

(2k-1)-1+(k-1) 4=2k+1

-2k+1+4k-4 = 2k+1

2k-3=2k+1 =0

2k-2k-3-1 =0

k-4 =0

k=4
