I think u want to know the value of a
2x^2+ax+√2=0
1 is the root then it satisfy it
so 2(1)^2+a×1+√2=0
4+a+√2=0
a=-(4+√2)
2x^2+ax+√2=0

4+a+√2=0
a=-(4+√2)
