ANSWER :

GIVEN :

kx² - 5kx + k = 0

TO FIND :

VALUE OF 'K'

SOLUTION :

FOR REAL AND EQUAL ROOTS

DISCRIMINATE WILL BE ZERO.

= D = b² - 4ac

▪︎ Here a = k , b = - 5k and c = k

= D = 0

= b² - 4ac = 0

= (-5k)² - 4(k)(k) = 0

= 25 k² - 16 k² = 0

= 9 k² = 0

= k = 0
