Solution :

Here it is given the lines are inconsistent means lines are parallel.

=> a1/a2 = 1/3

=> b1/b2 = 2/k

=> c1/c2 = -5/15 = -1/3

we know that;

a1/a2 = b1/b2 is not equal to c1/c2 called inconsistent pair.

=> 1/3 = 2/k

=> k = 6

Hope it helps

  Hi ...dear..
here is your answer!!!!.

....

If  a1x+b1y+c1=0a1x+b1y+c1=0 and a2x+b2y+c2=0a2x+b2y+c2=0 are inconsistent then,

          a1/a2=b1/b2≠c1/c2

           Hence, If x + 2y = 5 and 3x + ky = -15 are inconsistent then ,

                           1/3=2/k

                           1/3=2/

                           1*k = 3*2

                           k = 6

Therefore, k = 6.
....hope it helped you!!!!
