p(x)=6xsq+kx-2
(2x-1 )is a factor
.
. . 2x=1
x=1/2
p(1/2)=3+1/2k-2=0
=1/2k+1=0
=1/2k= -1
=k= -1*2/1

hey here goes..
2x -1. =0
2x = 1
x =1/2

6 (1/2) square +K (1/2)-2
= 3+ K 1/2-2

therefore K = -2

hope it helps you...
