ATQ, p(x) = 2x⁴ + 3x³ + 2kx² + 3x + 6 is exactly divisible by g(x) = x + 2
hence, remainder must come 0 when p(x) is divided by g(x)
let's find the value of x first.
➡ x + 2 = 0
➡ x = 0 - 2
➡ x = -2
putting value of x in p(x)
➡ p(-2) = 2(-2)⁴ + 3(-2)³ + 2k(-2)² + 3(-2) + 6
= 2(16) + 3(-8) + 2k(4) - 6 + 6
= 32 - 24 + 8k
= 8 + 8k --------(i)
since remainder is 0, let us equate (i) with 0
➡ 8 + 8k = 0
➡ 8k = -8
➡ k = -8/8
➡ k = -1
hence, the value of k is -1

- In ATQ p(x)
= 2x⁴ + 3x³ + 2kx² + 3x + 6 will be divisible by g(x) = x + 2
=>p(-2)
=>2(-2)⁴ + 3(-2)³ + 2k(-2)² + 3(-2) + 6
