Find the value of 'k' if 4x-2x+ kx+5 leaves a remainder -10 when divided by 2x+1

4*(-1/2)-2*(-1/2)+k*(-1/2)+5=(-10)
-2+1+(-k/2)+5=(-10)
-k/2=(-10)+(-4)
-k/2=(-14)
-k=(-14)*2
-k=(-28)
k=28
