Given -

\sf \sqrt {5}x - 7y = k

\sf x =  \sqrt{5} \\ y = 3

To find -

The value of k

Solution -

\sf \sqrt{5}( \sqrt{5}) - 7(3) = k

\sf \sqrt{25} - 21 = k

\sf 5 - 21 = k

\sf  - 16 = k

Procedure -

→ This Question is from the chapter polynomials.

→ In this we are given with an expression √5x - 7y = k And the values of x & y are given as √5 & 3.

→ Then we will put √5 in place of x and 3 in place of y and then we will multiply √5 with √5 and 3 with 7.

→ As you know that √5 × √5 = √25 = 5 and then 7 × 3 = 21. Then we will subract 5 from 21.

\therefore The value of k is -16.

Verification -

\sf  \sqrt{({5})}^{2} - 21 =  - 16

\sf 5 - 21 =  - 16

\sf  - 16 =  - 16

Hence, L.H.S = R.H.S

  • Nice question ! Let's see the meaning of this question. The meaning of our question is given below ↓
  • This question state that We have a expression √5x - 7y = k . The Answer of this expression's value x nd y is already given to us. The question say x = √5 and y = 3. The question say that we have to find the value of k.

\large{\boxed{\boxed{\sf{How \: to \: do \: this \: question}}}}

  • We know that this question is from a nice chapter of mathematics that is Polynomials.
  • We know what are Polynomials.
  • As we know that √5x - 7y = k. nd the value of x = √5 and y = 3
  • We know that we have to put √5 in the place of given x . Now putting 3 in the place of y.
  • Now we have to multiply √5 by √5 nd 3 by 7.
  • As we all know that, √5 × √5 = √25 = 5 . Now multiplying 3 by 7 = 21.
  • Now we have to subtract 7 by 21
  • 7 - 21 = -16
  • Hence, the Answer is -16
  • So, the value of k is -16.

What are Polynomials ?

A polynomial is defined as an expression which is composed of variables, constants and exponents.

What are the types of Polynomial ?

The polynomial contains 3 types -

  • Monomial
  • Binomial
  • Trinomial

What are Monomial ?

These are those algebraic expressions that contains only one term.

What are binomial ?

These are those algebraic expressions that contains two terms.

What are trinomial ?

These are those algebraic expressions that contains triple terms.

  • Value of k

\large{\boxed{\boxed{\sf{Solution}}}}

  • Value of k = -16

\large{\boxed{\boxed{\sf{Full \: solution}}}}

  • √5(√5) - 7(3) = k
  • √5 × √5 - 7 × 3 = k
