Given:-

  • coordinates of points A(2,2) , B (-4,2) C (-7,k )

To find :-

  • value of k

Solution:-

\\ \\ \\

Note :-

  • condition of three point (x1,y1)(x2,y2)(x3,y3) to be collinear is that area of ∆

  • =1/2(x1(y2-y3)+(y3-y1)x2+x3(y1-y2)=0

\\ \\ \\

using the concept in this question we get

it the points are collinear ,then area of ∆is =0

  • =>1/2[2(2-k)+-4(k-2)+-7(2-2)=0
  • =>1/2[4-2k-4k+8+0]=0
  • =>1/2[12-6k]=0
  • =>12-6k=0
  • =>-6k=-12
  • =>6k=12
  • =>k=2
