Hi ,compare given quadratic equation 3x² - k√3 x + 4 =0with ax² + bx + c = 0 ,a = 3 , b = - k√3 , c = 4according to the problem given,roots are equal .b² = 4ac ( - k√3 )² = 4 × 3 × 4k² × 3 = 4 ×3 × 4k² = 4 × 4k = √ 4 × 4k = 4 or k = -4 i hope this helps you.

for equal roots
b2=4ac
(k√3)²=4*3*4
3k^2= 48
k^2= 16
k = ±4
