X-1 is the factor,

Thus, let x-1 = 0

X= 1

F(X)= 4x³+ 3x²-4x+k= 0

F(1)= 4+3-4+k= 0

K= -3

P(x) =4x3 +3x2-4x+k

If x -1 is a factor then P(1) =0 according to factor theorem.

So (4x1x1x1)+(3x1x1)-(4X1 )+K =0

4+3-4+K =0

3+K =0

K= - 3
