now x-1 =0

x = 1

p(x) = 4x³ + 3x² -4x + k = 0

p(1) = 4 x 1³ + 3 x 1² - 4 x 1 + k =0

      = 4 + 3 -4 + k = 0

       = 7 - 4 + k =0

        = 3 + k =0

         = k = -3

the value of the k is -3

Answer:

 <font color="red">

x-1 = 0

x = 1

putting value of x in equation.

p(x) ,= 4 (1³) +3(1²) - 4*1+k

0 = 4 + 3-4 +k

0= 7-4 +k

k= -3.
