If x-1 is the factor of the cubic 4 x^{3} +3 x^{2}

−4x+k then x=1 is the root of the equation so it satisfies the given equation means if we substitute 1 in place of x in the given cubic then the value of the expression becomes 0

so

4. 1^{3} +3. 1^{2} -4.1+k=0 = 4+3-4+k=0 =k=-34.1
