find the value of k,if x-1 is a factor of p(x)=2x square + kx +4

Answer :

x - 1 = 0

so, x = 1

putting value of x we get

p(1) = 2(1)square + k(1) + 4 = 0

2 + k + 4 = 0

k = -6
