If x-1 is a factor of the above equation then X=1

k {x}^{2}  -  \sqrt{2} x + 1 = 0 \\ k {1}^{2}  -  \sqrt{2} (1) + 1 = 0 \\ k -  \sqrt{2}  + 1 = 0 \\ k =  \sqrt{2}  - 1 \\
