=>If x-1 is a factor of the polynomial x^2+x+k then value of x =1(x-1=0).

=>Now,put the value of x in above equation to find out the value of k.

 =  >  {x}^{2}  + x + k = 0

 =  >  {(1)}^{2}  + 1 + k = 0

 =  > 2 + k = 0

 =  > k =  - 2

Now ,check whether the value of k is correct or not.

 =  >  {x}^{2}  + x + k = 0

 =  > 1 + 1 + ( - 2) = 0

 =  > 2 - 2 = 0

 =  > 0 = 0
