Concept-

Put the values of x = 2 and y = 1 in the given equation and get the value of K. Then, put the value of K in the given equation to get the values of x and y to get the coordinates of the point where the graph cuts the y-axis.

Given-

X=2 and Y=1 is a solution of the equation ( K - 2 )X + 4Y = 10

Find-

Find the value of K and write the co-ordinate of the point where the graphs cuts the Y-axis.

Solution-

If x = 2 and y = 1 , then

(K - 2)2 + 4 × 1 = 10

2K - 4 + 4 = 10

K = 5

Now, equation is -

⇒ ( 5 - 2 )x + 4y = 1

⇒ 3x + 4y = 1

⇒ x / 1/3 + y / 1/4 = 1

The graph cuts the y-axis at the point ( 0 , 1/4 ).
