If x-2 is a factor of p(x) means x- 2 =0 ,so x=2

putting x=2 in p(x)

p(x) = 2x2 + x + k

p(x)=4+2+k

0=6+k

k=-6

Answer:

k= -6

Step-by-step explanation:

factor =x-2 (transportation of -2)

x=2

(putting the value of x = 2)

p(x) = 2x2+(x) +k

p(2) = 2x2+(2) +k

p(2) = 4+2+k

p(2) =6+k

Now,

6+k=0 (transporting 6 on R. H. S.)

K= -6
