Given equation = x² - 5x + k

given value of x =  -1

by substituting -1 in place of x

p(-1) = (-1)² - 5 × (-1) + k

= 1 - 5 + k

-4 + k

to find the value of k equate the expression with 0

-4 + k = 0

k = 4

hope it helps !!
