Answer:

value of K is - 53.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Here,

p(X) = X + 102 - 2x + k + 5

factor = X + k

(X + k ) is a factor , so we substitute X = -k

[ x + k = 0 => X = -k ]

Now,

p(X) = X + 102 - 2x + k + 5

p(1) => ( -k ) + 102 - 2 ( -k ) + k + 5 = 0

=> -k + 102 + 3k + 5 = 0

=> 102 + 2k + 5 = 0

=> 107 + 2k = 0

=> 2k = 0 - 107

=> 2k = - 107

=> k = - 107 / 2 = - 53.5

Therefore , the value of K is - 53.5
