Find the value of k if x+k is the factor of polynomialx^3+kx^2-2x+k+5

Answer:

we know that x+k is factor of polynomial p(x)

so, x+k=0

x=-k

now, putting the value of x in P(x), we get :

(-k) ^3+k×(-k) ^2+k+5=0

(-k) ^3+k^3+k+5=0

now, k+5=0

hence, k=-5
