Answer:

k = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Q.E = kx (x - 2) + 6 = 0

⇒ kx² - 2kx + 6 = 0

a = k , b = -2k , c = 6

If the equation has two equal roots then D = 0

⇒ b² - 4ac = 0

⇒ (-2k)² - 4(k)(6) = 0

⇒ 4k² - 24k = 0

⇒ 4k(k - 6) = 0

⇒ k = 0 , k = 6

On sub. k = 0 the equation does not give quadratic equation.

∴ k = 6
