Area of Trangle having co-ordinates (x1, y1 ) , ( x2 , y2) and ( x3 , y3 ) is

=>

1/2 {x1( y2 - y3 ) -x2 ( y1-y3 ) + x3(y1-y2)}

=>

1/2{(k+1)(-3+k)-4(1+k)+28}=6

=>

-3k + k² - 3 + k -4 -4k = -16

=>

k² -6k + 9= 0

=>

k² -3k -3k + 9 = 0

=>

k( k - 3 ) -3 ( k - 3 ) = 0

=>

( k - 3 ) = 0 or ( k - 3 ) = 0

k = 3
