Find the value of K, so that the equation (k-1)x2

Answer:

(k-1) x²  - 3x + 1 =  0  ---------------------------have equal rooots

therefore,  D= 0  

                 b² - 4ac = 0

                 b² =  4ac

a =  (k-1)         ,      b =  -3        ,     c = 1

(-3)²  =  4 × ( k-1 ) × 1

9  =  4k  - 4

9 + 4  = 4k

therefore ,  4k = 13

           k  = 13/4
