Given:

x+y=k will form a triangle of area 32 sq units.

To find:

the value of k

Solution:

1) The area of the triangle given in the question is 32 so if we find the product of the base and height of the triangle that must be 64.

2) We all know that the 64 is a perfect square hence the base and height of the triangle are equal to each other.

3) Hence the value of k must be √64 which is equal to 8.

the value of k is 8 units.
