Equation has equal roots then

b {}^{2}  - 4ac = 0

a = 2 b= k - 2 c =1

(k - 2) {}^{2}  - 4(2)(1) = 0

k {}^{2}  - 4k + 4 - 8 = 0

k {}^{2}  - 4k - 4 = 0

Solve above eq. you will get value of k.
