to have parallel lines its should satisfy..
a1/a2=b1/b2is not = c1/c2
now,
2/k=3/9
2×9=3k
18=3k
k=18/3
k=6
hope this helps...

Concept introduction:

Parallel lines in topology are collinear, continuous lines that don't cross at any point. In the same lobed space, parallel planes are any planes that never cross. Curves that are parallel to one another and maintain a predetermined minimum spacing do not touch or intersect.

Given:

Here it is given that 2x-3y=9 and kx-9y=18.

To find:

We have to find the value of k so the lines should be parallel.

Solution:

According to the question, The two equations are

2x-3y=9 and kx-9y=18

To have parallel lines its should satisfy..

a1/a2=b1/b2 is not= c1/c2

Now,

2/k=3/9\\2*9=3k\\18=3k\\k=18/3\\k=6

Final answer:

Hence, the final answer of the question is -> k=6.
