here,
a1=2, b1= 4 and c1=7, and
a2= 3, b2= -k and c2= 1
we know that,
for having parallel line( no solution),
a1/a2=b1/b2 ≠c1/c2
2/3=4/-k ≠ 7
2/3=4/-k
-2k= 4 x 3
k= -6
