Given,
3x-y-5=0 and 6x-2y-k=0
If the given pair of linear equations has no solution, then -
a1/a2 = b1/b2 ≠ c1/c2
Here, a1/a2 = 3/6 = 1/2
b1/2 = -1/-2 = 1/2
c1/c2 = 5/k
Hence, 5/k ≠ 1/2
k≠10
Hence, for all values of k other than 10, the given pair of linear equations has no solution.

Answer:

k = 10

Note:

a1/a2 = b1/b2 c1/c2 -----> no solution

Here,

a1 = 3

a2 = 6

b1 = -y

b2 = -2y

c1 = -5

c2 = -k

3/6 = 1/2

-y/-2y = 1/2

-5/-k = 5/k

1/2 = 1/2 = 5/k

5/k = 1/2

k = 5*2/1

k = 10
