keep 3 in place of x and then use factor theorem and you would get the answer as 15

hey !!!

x - 3 = 0

x = 3

p ( x:) = x³ + x² - 17x +k

p( 3) = 3³ + 3² - 17( 3) + k

p(3) = 27+9- 51 +k

p(3 ) = 36- 51 +k

p(3) = -15 + k

k = 15 Answer ...
