Given

$\frac{ log( \sqrt{8} ) }{ log(8) }$

$= \frac{ log( {8}^{ \frac{1}{2} } ) }{ log(8) }$

Using power law of logarithm, we get

$= \frac{1}{2} \times \frac{ log(8) }{ log(8) }$

=1/2.
