 {2}^{(m - 3)}  = 1 \\  \\   {2}^{(m - 3)}  =  {2}^{0}  \\  \\ bases \: are \: same \:  \:  \:  \: so \: exponents \: are \:  \\  \: equal \\  \\ m - 3 = 0 \\  \\  m = 3

    Here
 2^{m} - 3 = 1
or, 2^{m}  = 1+3
or, 2^{m}  = 4
or, 2^{m}  = 2²
        Hence, m = 2
